Dr.ย Ehab Shalaby, PhD, Chairman and CEO of DCarbon, participated in a panel discussion on Climate Risk Management and Sustainable Finance, Challenges, and Opportunities for the Egyptian banking sector, organized by the Egyptian Banking Institute.
The panel was moderated by Andreas Ruepp, Head of Access to Finance for SMEs at GIZ Egypt, and featured Mr. Walid Aly, General Manager, Sustainability Department, Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Mr. Walid Fawzy, Deputy Chief Risk Officer, Institutional Banking Risk, (CIB) and Dr. Ehab Shalaby, Chairman, DCarbon Egypt discussed Climate Risk Management and Sustainable Finance Challenges and opportunities for the Egyptian banking sector, from the perspective of the regulator, the banking sector, and the advisory consultants.
This panel comes in the light of the global, regional, and national importance given by, Investors, lenders, governments, regulators, and rating agencies, in how financial institutions are adopting and complying with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues and factors.
