DC and TSC will work together in developing new business models and incentives to public and private sectors, government, IOs, and civil society and individual customers that motivates the transition towards new and renewable energy production and consumption in Egypt.
The consortium will utilize integrated analytical digital tools to support strategic and sustainable business solutions. The consortium will also develop and implement training and capacity building programs for utilization of solar energy, engaging in joint communication, project proposal development and project implementation.
In November 2020, the consortium will launch the first of its kind Certificate of GHG Emission Reduction for 400 small scale solar systems deployed by TSC. The certificates will be assured by Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), a global third-party assurance provider. The certificates aims at incentivizing the deployment of small solar system energy solutions.
The official launch of the DC-TSC strategic partnership was introduced during the Sustainable finance Executive Training Programme organized by Dcarbon Egypt and Global Sustain on 27-28 September at JW Marriott Hotel Cairo with the presence of leading Egyptian and regional banks who are actively engaging in sustainable finance and investments on solar energy projects.
