Post Level: Senior            Duration of Initial Contract: One Year, renewable

Role: An Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is a leadership position that involves managing teams and projects related to environmental, carbon footprint and lifecycle assessment reporting that may require implementation. The role of an Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is crucial in advancing environmental practices, and it requires a combination of scientific, analytical, management, and communication skills to be successful.

 

Job Responsibilities

    • Leadership: An Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for leading a team of researchers and managing multiple projects simultaneously. This includes
      1. delegating tasks,
      2. providing guidance and support to team members, and
      3. ensuring that team members are meeting project goals and deadlines.
    • Strategy and Planning: An Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for developing and implementing the reporting/project strategies and plans that address environmental and sustainability project issues. A deep understanding of carbon footprint and sustainability frameworks is a must, and the ability to identify and prioritize issues and opportunities that support the successful completion of the project is a key to success.
    • Research: An Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for conducting research on various sustainability issues and trends, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, renewable energy, circular economy, and social inequality. They must have strong research skills and be able to analyze complex data and systems.
    • Knowledge Transfer and Collaboration: Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for knowledge transfer to the teams he works with, and the various stakeholders, such as policymakers, NGOs, businesses, and local communities. They must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate these collaborations and build partnerships that support sustainable development.
    • Project Design and Implementation: Environmental and LCA Senior Associate plays a critical role in designing and implementing sustainability projects/Reports that address complex challenges. This requires creativity, innovation, and the ability to think outside the box. Environmental and LCA Senior Associates need to be able to identify the most effective strategies and solutions to address client’s needs, considering factors such as resource availability, cost-effectiveness, social acceptability, and regulatory compliance.
    • Project Evaluation: Once sustainability Projects/reports are completed, Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the process, and team members and addressing challenges faced throughout the project effectiveness. This involves analyzing data, assessing the performance of each team member, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting to the Environmental and LCA Manager and Environmental and LCA Director.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for engaging with stakeholders to promote environmental practices and build support for environmental initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for continuously monitoring and evaluating environmental performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring that clients are achieving their sustainability and environmental goals.
    • Resource Management: Environmental and LCA Senior Associate is responsible for managing staff resources. They must ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve project goals.

Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering and industrial engineering (Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage),
    • 4-6 years of experience.
    • Carbon footprint and Lifecycle Assessment background is a plus.
    • Demonstrated strength in data analysis and reporting
    • Ability to work with large data sets and produce effective reporting
    • Passion for delivering value for the client
    • Passion for aligning financial returns with societal impact
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • A team player, and can manage to work under pressure
