Role: The Sustainability Associate plays an important role in supporting clients’ sustainability efforts and helping them achieve their sustainability goals. The following are the key roles and responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities
- Sustainability Research: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for conducting research on various sustainability issues and trends, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, renewable energy, circular economy, and social inequality. They must have strong research skills and be able to analyze complex data and systems.
- Sustainable Strategy: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for contributing to the development of sustainability strategies for clients that outline specific actions to improve their sustainability performance. This could involve a range of initiatives, such as improving energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing supply chain sustainability, and promoting social responsibility.
- Sustainability Assessment: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for supporting sustainability assessments to identify areas for improvement and potential opportunities. This includes assessing a client’s environmental impact, social policies, and corporate governance practices.
- Sustainable Reporting: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for assisting clients in developing sustainability reports that document their sustainability performance and progress. This includes collecting and analyzing data, and creating reports that meet reporting standards and best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for supporting stakeholder engagement efforts, including engaging with employees, suppliers, customers, and local communities, to promote sustainability practices and build support for sustainability initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for supporting clients in complying with relevant sustainability regulations and standards, including environmental regulations, labor laws, and human rights standards.
- Continuous Improvement: An Associate Sustainability Researcher is responsible for supporting the continuous monitoring and evaluation of sustainability performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring that clients are achieving their sustainability goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration (Master’s Degree in a sustainability relevant field is an advantage),
- 2-4 years of experience,
- Demonstrated strength in data analysis and reporting,
- Ability to work with large data sets and produce effective reporting,
- Passion for delivering value for the client,
- Passion for aligning financial returns with societal impact,
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills,
- A team player, and can manage to work under pressure.
