Alia Khaled
Senior Sustainability Associate

Alia Khaled is a Senior Sustainability Associate who holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, at Cairo University and is equipped with a master’s degree in development and Humanitarian Aid from Paris I- Panthéon Sorbonne University, Paris. She is a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, at Cairo University.

She participated in the preparation of Egypt’s Third Voluntary National Review (2021) and the Voluntary Local Reviews (2023) of three Egyptian Governorates which were presented at the HLPF highlighting progress made in implementing the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.

As well, she showed growing interest in the themes of sustainability and climate change. She was MPED’s assigned focal point for the COP27 Presidency initiative “Decent Life for a Climate Resilient Africa” which was launched on the margins of the UNFCCC (CoP27), in 2022, in Sharm El Sheikh to improve the quality of life in the African rural villages by 2030. Consequently, she engaged extensively with multiple international and African partners and stakeholders to operationalise this flagship initiative.

Alia acquired a wide knowledge in the field of development and sustainability, planning, public policy, governance, strategic management and project management.
