Biden welcomed Egypt’s climate leadership.
بايدن يرحب بقيادة مصر في مجال تغير المناخ
President Biden congratulated Egypt on Summit presidency and welcomed Egypt’s leadership in accelerating global ambition and action to tackle the climate crisis. The parties agreed on setting up a joint U.S.-Egypt Climate Working Group. President Biden met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
التقى الرئيس بايدن بالرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي في جدة بالمملكة العربية السعودية. وهنأ الرئيس بايدن مصر على رئاسة القمة ورحب بقيادة مصر في تسريع الطموح العالمي والعمل على معالجة أزمة المناخ. اتفق الطرفان على تشكيل مجموعة عمل مناخية مشتركة بين الولايات المتحدة ومصر.

President Sisi: Sharm Conference set out to keep Paris Agreement targets within reach
الرئيس السيسي: مؤتمر شرم سيعمل على تفعيل اتفاقيات باريس
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has pledged to make the next global climate change conference, hosted in November, a “turning point” in international efforts to protect the environment. President Sisi told the annual Petersberg Climate Dialogue in Berlin on Monday that there should be assistance available to Africa to battle the effects of climate change and outlined the country’s efforts to become greener.
تعهد الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي بجعل المؤتمر العالمي المقبل لتغير المناخ المقرر استضافته في نوفمبر “نقطة تحول” في الجهود الدولية لحماية البيئة. قال الرئيس السيسي لحوار بيترسبرغ حول المناخ السنوي في برلين يوم الاثنين إنه يجب أن تكون هناك مساعدة متاحة لأفريقيا لمحاربة آثار تغير المناخ، وحدد جهود البلاد لتصبح أكثر اخضرارًا

Egypt’s foreign minister called on rich and developing countries to show readiness to compromise at the U.N. climate talks he is set to chair in November, saying that the negotiations shouldn’t be a “zero-sum game” between wealthier and poorer nations.

UK Court rules Net Zero Strategy not clear nor comprehensive enough.
حكمت محكمة بريطانية أن استراتيجية صافي الانبعاثات الصفري ليست واضحة ولا شاملة بما فيه الكفاية
UK High Court ruling is considered a win for climate justice and accountability by environmental advocacy groups. The High Court found that the Net Zero Strategy doesn’t meet the requirements of the Climate Change Act to produce detailed climate policies that show how the UK’s legally-binding carbon budgets will be met. Now, the government will have to update its climate strategy to include a quantified account of how its policies will achieve climate targets.
